Well first off, I love the pink background theme you have going. Great minds think alike, I suppose. Thank you for your thoughtful and engaging introduction. I also appreciated that you included the image from the Saanich School Website, as it gave me a clearer understanding of the WSÁNEĆ territory.
I liked that you shared your most memorable and impactful learning experience from practicum. That time was really important for me as well, and I felt like every day brought something new to learn. I also connect with what you said about constructivist approaches and the role of relevance in learning. It is powerful that you recognize how linking new ideas to prior knowledge and real-life application motivates you to go deeper. The way you tied this to Baruah’s TED Talk stood out to me too, because it shows how motivation and relevance are not only personal but also something teachers can build into their classrooms. I wonder, when you think about bringing this into your own teaching, what kinds of specific strategies do you see yourself using to make learning feel meaningful and relevant for your students?
I enjoyed the images and the video you included, and I wonder if a table might have been another way to support your ideas. Overall, you created a wonderful blog and initial post layout, and I am looking forward to keeping up with your content.
