Hi, I’m Abigail! I enjoy spending time outdoors, staying active, and always looking for new healthy habits to try. I just graduated, which feels like such an exciting new chapter. Recently, I’ve discovered a love for travelling (I went on my first big trip this past summer) and living on the island has given me a whole new appreciation for being by the ocean. I grew up lucky enough to live near two lakes, but nothing quite compares to the ocean here.

I was fortunate to grow up on the unceded territory of the Syilx Okanagan peoples. I carry awareness that my presence there was shaped by difficult histories, and I continue to look for ways to give back to the land and support working toward reconciliation.

I would also like to acknowledge, with respect and gratitude, that I now spend my time on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Lək̓ʷəŋən peoples, known today as the Esquimalt and Songhees Nations, as well as the W̱SÁNEĆ Nations, whose connections to the land and waters remain strong and enduring.

This blog has been through a few different lives, first as a tech blog during one of my 2nd-year classes (the URL is a bit of a giveaway, thanks to 20-year-old me trying to be funny), then as a teacher portfolio, and now, in year five of my education, I’m using it once again for two courses (EDCI 335 & 338). I look forward to connecting with you virtually!
